Investigation of the interaction of aerosol particles with clouds through droplet and ice crystal formation is an ongoing activity at the high alpine research station Jungfraujoch in Switzerland. The aerosol partitioning in mixed phase clouds is important because it has substantial implications for our understanding of the various indirect aerosol effects on climate.
