Marine Observations of Clouds, Aerosols and Radiation: Future Research Activities at the IfT

Based on the Leibniz-initiative OCEANET the IfT is reinforcing its activities in observing aerosols and cloud processes as well as their effect on the radiation budget over the open ocean. OCEANET consists of a near-autonomous measurement platform for active/passive atmospheric remote sensing and surface energy budget observations. The presentation will summarize the results from several research cruises onboard the German Research Vessel POLARSTERN during 2007 to 2010.
